Aperintel ("Aperintel", "we", "us", or "our") is an intelligence infrastructure company. We build AI-native systems that structure and enhance intelligence across organisations, communities, and individuals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you visit our website or interact with our services.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal data:

• Contact information: Your name, email address, and organisation name when you submit a project brief or request access.
• Usage data: Pages visited, time spent on the site, and interactions with our tools, collected via server logs and analytics.
• Chat and brief content: Text you enter into our Intelligence Chat, Intelligence Brief Generator, or Start a Project tools. This content is processed by our AI systems to generate a response. We do not store individual chat messages beyond your active session unless you submit a project brief.
• Submitted project briefs: When you approve and submit a project brief, we store your contact details, organisation context, and the generated brief for the purpose of following up on your enquiry.
• Device and technical data: Browser type, IP address, device type, and operating system, collected automatically when you visit our site.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data under the following legal bases:

• Legitimate interests: To operate and improve our website and tools, and to respond to enquiries.
• Contractual necessity: To process and respond to project brief submissions where you have requested our services.
• Consent: Where required by law, for example for certain cookies.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To process and respond to project brief submissions and access requests.
• To improve and develop our products and services.
• To operate our AI tools and generate intelligence outputs in response to your inputs.
• To comply with legal obligations.
• To protect against fraud, abuse, or misuse of our systems.

5. AI Processing

Our tools use the Anthropic API to process text inputs and generate structured outputs. Your inputs are transmitted to Anthropic's servers to generate responses. Aperintel does not use your inputs to train AI models. You should not submit sensitive personal data, confidential commercial information, or data belonging to third parties through our AI tools. 6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with:

• Service providers: Including Vercel (hosting and infrastructure) and Anthropic (AI processing). These providers are bound by their own data processing agreements.
• Legal authorities: Where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights of Aperintel or third parties.

7. Data Retention

Project brief submissions are retained for up to 12 months to allow us to follow up on enquiries. Contact information submitted via the contact form is retained until you request deletion or for up to 24 months, whichever is sooner. Chat session data is not stored beyond the active session unless a project brief is submitted.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to processing or request restriction of processing.
• Data portability where applicable.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
